About Us

A welcoming space where friendships grow and community thrives.

Our Mission

Our mission is to enhance the overall quality of life and happiness of adults with developmental disabilities through purposeful social interactions. We are committed to creating a vibrant and inclusive community where individuals can thrive, build lasting friendships, and gain confidence in their daily lives.

Our Story

In 2020, during the challenges of lockdown, we took a step forward to make a difference. Motivated by the need to support my daughter, Paige, and our community, we established a volunteer nonprofit dedicated to spreading kindness and connection.

What started as a simple idea quickly blossomed into something beautiful. We began by gleaning fresh fruits and sharing them with anyone in need of nourishing produce. As word spread, our pantry grew, attracting generous donations from local farmers and a remarkable network of enthusiastic volunteers eager to help.

These volunteers not only contributed their time and effort but also found joy in coming together. After our

gleaning sessions, we started hosting additional meet ups, creating a sense of camaraderie and friendship among those who shared our vision.

Today, we proudly introduce our new space, affectionately named “The Place.” This name is a nod to the phrase “This must be the place,” encapsulating our mission to create a welcoming environment for gathering and connecting.

At The Place, we celebrate community, fostering relationships with like minded individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact. Together, we continue to grow, support each other, and uplift our community, one shared moment at a time.

2024, Something New

The timing was right. Paige, the inspo for the pantry, was aging out of her school program. Farmers were not able to give us donations. We need to make changes. The crew decided to get together 3-4 times a week for activities. And my was it a success.

2023, Keep Going

By this year, we had a small office space to bag and distribute produce. Plus we had fun in our community with our crew.

2022, More Volunteers, plus Community

A lot can happen in a year! Expanded to 30 volunteers, gave away 140+ bags of fresh produce a month.

2021, The Realization
