Hello November

Hi Friends

Did you have a fun Halloween? I dressed as a Strawberry. I had a fun time celebrating Halloween at school and at home. My dad made a spooky display in our garage. I did not trick or treat, I went swimming instead.

Thank you to https://www.yasukochifamilyfarms.com/ for the produce donation!

My Mom and I are researching Thanksgiving. Here is something I learned today:

What is the story of Thanksgiving?

In 1621, the Plymouth colonists and Wampanoag Native Americans shared an autumn harvest feast that is acknowledged today as one of the first Thanksgiving celebrations in the colonies. For more than two centuries, days of thanksgiving were celebrated by individual colonies and states.

The Best Thanksgiving Mashed Potatoesthekittchen.com

Ingredients

  • 5 pounds of Yukon Gold Potatoes

  • 2 tablespoons Butter

  • about 2 cups (15 ounces) of Light Sour Cream

  • 8 ounces Reduced Fat Cream Cheese

  • 4 ounces Cheddar Cheese

  • 2 teaspoons Salt

  • ½ teaspoon Pepper

Instructions Peel the potatoes. Chop into cubes and boil until tender. This will take about 20 minutes. Drain potatoes and return to pot or place in the bowl of an electric mixer. Add butter, cheddar cheese, cream cheese, 1 cup sour cream, salt and pepper to the potatoes. Mix and mash either with a mixer or a hand masher. If you use a mixer the potatoes will be smooth and creamy, if you mash by hand the potatoes will be chunkier.
